I am a decendent of Charlotte Williams, whose parents were Thomas Williams and Jemima Carter. You did so well with your research. I know after they came to Missouri and the Civil War, we lost Charlotte and some people were cofused about her husband, William Hill, that was a common name. But there were a few leads I could go by. I myself have very few living relatives, but its a relief that I came from upstanding decedents like the Rev. Benjamin Williams and family. Reply to this

Hello, Bonnie! You have caught my attention...about John Micheal Weber, coming from Heddesbach and coming to Dutch Mills. Coincedently, My Great Grandfather George Heron(Herron) came from Somewhere in Baden, at about the same time, to the same town, and with the same wagon-making occupation. Its interesting that his mother was supposedly from Heddesbach. My George became the postmaster in dutch mills after the civil war. George was a wagonmaker for half his life and had married Mary Ann White and then later Laura Wright, both from there. So, I would like to see if there may be a connection, it has been suggested that he came with a cousin. Not a whole lot that I know About my Grandfather, other than family remember him saying it took "77 days on a sailship" I bet they knew each other, but how to find out. Well, I'll be back. See ya! I just wanted to thank you for putting the Benjamin Williams history on the web for everyone to enjoy. I used to own the book but gave it away to a cousin who has sons who will carry on the name. Benjamin Jr. (McDonald County MO)was my Great Grandfather, Vernie or V.B. my Grandfather, Ralph my Father. I was the last Benjamin Williams descendant to live in McDonald county leaving for the last time in 2000. For 150 years the Williams family had a direct descendant in the county. It is very sad to think that there may never be another. Once again thank you for the fond memories! Doug Reply to this
